To create a consistent, meaningful packaging and labels for Íon Distillery products.
After 18months of exhaustive research and evolution, each product would feature an etched illustrated vertical stone element (reflective of the Ogham in the Íon Brand) at its center. Multiple print finishes and textures to maximise the luxury hand feel. And a unique bottle, shaped to best-fit a bartenders grasp.
Taking inspiration from history, landscape and people Íon rum is distilled in honour of the original Irish “Pirate Queen” Granuaile / Grainne Mhaol – the 16th Century scourge of the Atlantic. Notorious and known to the crown as Grace O’Malley, this fiery Irish woman lived, loved, fought and thrived in adversity. The illustrated element, Granuaile’s Castle, a stone tower located near Clare Island would form the central element of the label.
